Default Two stage blower for 149 or 169?

I'd like to get a two stage snowblower for either my 149 or 169. Was one ever made for these models? Or has anyone ever adapted a model 450 or other newer model to fit? The single stage blower I have just doesn't cut it with the wet heavy snow here in Western NY. Thanks for any input.

The only blower specifically made to fit earlier wideframes is the 364. They aren’t super common.

I’ve seen 450s retrofitted, but I’m not 100% sure what it takes. I doubt it’s anything too major. Might involve a PTO swap if you want to run the right size belt.

Thanks for the notice, but I'm just not into playing Facebook games for a couple of hours, even though I'm retired. I'll just keep looking the old fashioned way - that's how I found my 169.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
