Default Reassembling Electric Lift 147 questions

Hey guys,

I searched a few times and cannot find my answer, The manual is pretty vague when it comes to reassembly of the Electric Power Lift. I have replaced all the bearings, broken pinon gear/shaft, spiroid gear and bushings, and now I need some help getting it all back together.

When it comes to screwing the outer tube into the housing until tight. It would appear that step is when meshes the gears and presses the new load bearing into place, is that correct? if so, how much force should I use, the PO used a big pipe wrench and the tube showed a ton of marks from it....(in picture #2, I am talking about threading Part 8 into 6).

Any prefered methods to assemble it, also whats this Red piece CC Specialties sent me?

I'd just screw it in till it's snug, then replace the set screw to keep it there..
You should be able to see where the screw was originally.
No need to get violent with it, it's not like its a pipe fitting and gonna leak.

Can't answer your question but I have another question. In your pic #3,my lift when it hits the top [full extension] , the motor keeps running and pushes part #7 out of the bottom of the housing.

Thanks @finsruskw thats what I was thinking, I think the marks and scars this thing had came from someone putting it together with too much force, or just trying to make warn out pieces work. I guess my biggest fear was having too much slop in the gears, leading to striping them out.

@wagonmaster: in the pic #3 that part 7 is the bushing that keeps the pinon shaft in place, if it pops out, you could risk striping the pinion and spiroid gears (like mine) and those seem to be the two most expensive pieces in there. That bushing (Part 7) should have a set screw that goes in from the side to hold it in place, see if yours is missing. (my picture #1 shows that set screw hole, and the two bushings laying beside it) see how my old bushing is warn out and oblong, and the new one is better, may be worth putting a new one in to save future trouble.
