What's up guys?
Hey y'all.
I haven't been on here a while. Guess you could call it the winter blues, cabin fever, or being preoccupied with other things. Working 40+ hours and chasing a 1 year around will do that to you. Most of December I was more bored because it wasn't snowing and I didn't have grass to cut. I got used to that and was OK with it, but winter is far from over. I attended an auction and found a 73 for sale that I'm having buyers remorse in that it only went for about $180; it was running and had a 38" deck.  (I opted to pass on it because 1) I don't really have the space for two so one would have to sit outside-no- 2) didn't have the $$ on me at the time 3) it would have needed a rebuild soon as it was a 60/40 gas/oil engine, 4) the clutch seemed weak 5) the hood and steering was worn out in all the usual spots 6) it didn't have anything special going for it like fenders, creeper, spring assist, weights, etc. What it did get me was thinking that although I've never had a problem swapping implements on my 147 for each season, I'd sorta like to just park it in the winter and use a gear drive for pushing snow- leave all the winter gear on it all year. I'm drawn to a 73 because of multiple reasons- all of the NF equipment I have would bolt right on, it has the same black stripe hood decal, etc etc. I don't think 7HP would prohibit me from pushing the same amount of snow/material I do now with a 14HP as long as I have enough weight/chains/etc Anywho, we've gotten hit with two weekends of 6" snowfalls. Good to hear from you! I've been off for along time too. Cubs are just for snow now and eastern KS has been very mild snowfalls for 3-4 years so not much activity.

Too bad about the 73, when you get real old like SamMac you can enjoy the hobby of collecting old Cubs.
