Thanks for making mine, the Cub Cadet Picture of the Week.
This was the day I brought my tractor home. After months of searching Craig's List and Ebay, only to miss out on a great deal, be out bid, or not find anything close enough to home to be practical, I found my 125 on Craig's List and it was only about 12 miles from home. It was listed the day before my day off so I was able to get in touch with the seller and make arrangements to see it first thing the next morning. I loaded up the truck with ramps, and tie-downs, stopped at the bank and headed over to the seller. After a quick test drive and some friendly negotiation, I loaded up my first tractor and headed home. The only thing not perfect about the day was that it was Mrs. Flatbedford's birthday! Yes, I bought a tractor for my wife's birthday! I had to let her take it for a ride when I got it unloaded.
I showed her this last night and she was a little embarrassed to be on the 'net, on a tractor, in her slippers, and robe, but I think she looks great as always. So there you all have it, three of the best things I man could want. Beautiful wife, loyal dog, and an IH Cub Cadet.

Steve,
I think the smile on her face is proof enough that she enjoyed her birthday gift. Now the question is - has she let you drive it yet?

Congrats on the first cub. Perhaps the reason she is smiling is because 'she thinks your tractor's sexy' :biggrin2.gif:. Happy belated birthday to her!! She will really enjoy that set up this winter when the sidewalk and drive are cleared in a few minutes with lots of fun instead of back breaking work!!!

...Especially when she will probably be the one doing the clearing. My work days are pretty long and it is not unusual for me to completely miss a smaller snow storm.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
