When I originally took the mower deck out from underneath the mower I didn't look up under at the 2 belts on the underside of the tractor... while I had the deck out I replaced blades and belt and bearings... when I put the deck back in I noticed when I pulled the pto lever that it pulled the cable and spring but it did not move the idler (tensioner) pulley to engage... as I dug deeper I found quite a bit of slack in the pto cable so I am replacing it... also when I dug deeper I seen that the large belt underneath was badly worn so I am replacing it as well... hopefully this solves the issue so I can get back to mowing my own yard... Thanks to everyone for their help I truly appreciate the feedback

ok i want to know how you get to your cable and replace it?????
i cant find any help with changing out the blade engagement cable. it is surrounded by a box of steel and i cant figure out how to get there. is anyone got some help?????
