New guy... older Z Force
Just wanted to drop a note to say hello. Just last week I got an older Z Force 44" zero turn. The body looks fantastic. It had been sitting in a shed for a few years before I got it. It started up with new gas, but would bog down every time I put it under a load. Did the normal maintenance stuff. I was thinking it was the carb maybe not getting enough fuel when it was under load, so I bought a new one and installed it. It was just about as cheap as a rebuild kit, plus now I have one to take apart and rebuild as time permit... just for kicks and learning.
Anyway, that wasn't the issue. Did some Google Fu and found that apparently it is relatively common to lose a cylinder. While it was running, I popped the wire off one side, no effect. Replaced it, popped it off the other side and it died instantly. Checked the coil, and it is bad. While it is apart I am going to go ahead and replace both. Hopefully I'll be cutting grass monday.
