Fighting with a Electric lift
I can’t for the life of me get my lift to work. I am getting power to the plug but the lift won’t budge. If I use jumper wires from the battery to the lift it works so I know the motor isn’t burnt up. I’ve cleaned the connectors on the switch but still nothing. So what am I missing

Perhaps maybe you need to replace that wire you just jumped along with new terminal connectors. Make sure the gauge is correct on that wire. Or the switch could be bad.

Your getting power at plug, are you getting ground? Or are you getting a short on that plug when connected to motor?

How do I check the ground on this? Everything works on this except the headlights cause all the wires were cut(not sure why) no that isn’t the problem this was a daily mower until i got it. The guy stoped useing it midsummer and I had gotten it 2 months after that. It didn’t sit long enough for the gas to go bad so it hadn’t sat long.

With a meter check continuity between battery ground and ground in harness to motor. Also. If there is a short in the power wire it could show enough voltage to dimly light a test light but may have very little current.

The motor is grounded thru its casing, so no ground wire.
When the lift is attached to the tractor it is then grounded with the battery ground from the S/G bracket to the frame.... Test the switch using a vom on it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
