What do you think...?
Hi y'all, I recently came across a 1968 Cub 107 hydrostatic for sale. Seems to be in great shape at a very reasonable price. Now I can understand the addiction and see how the Cub family begins to grow! Lol!! Anyway, a silly question, however. Do all hydrostatics have hydraulic controls for the working tools and attachments? And/or does the option exist to add auxiliary hoses from the pump for attachments. Meaning, if this Cub is hydrostatic trans but not hydraulic operation (lift, attachments, implements, etc) am I able to make it, hydraulic? Thanks in advance

Not all hydrostatics have accessories hydraulic ports. It's a different pump with auxiliary ports. However, some had the option.

Besides the optional ported hydro pump, you could have a separate hydraulic unit that was available.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
