Hello OCC Members,

Just signed up. Have wanted a Cub Cadet for Years.

Will restore one and use it!

Found a Model 102, and possibly its Mower Deck, for sale.

Please review the photos of the Model 102 and mower deck in my 2 photo albums to help answer some questions I have, and, give opinions on value.

Thanks.

I have added two photos of the frame serial number and engine data tag to my photo album for this tractor.

1965 Model 102.

Would come with the 42 inch mower deck, its bracket, and mule drive

Owner asking $450. I had offered $200 no accessories, and $400 if it came with extra accessories.

Want one that can plow snow also, was hoping owner could find a plow as their now passed father had several Cubs and some parts in storage.

One plus is that it has been stored inside for many years.

Welcome to OCC ! much info and knowledge to be found here ! Not a bad looking machine but needing some work, I think your offer of 200 is fair the way it sits ,If it runs and doesn't have any major mechanical issues, if the deck is decent and the spindles are good, I've passed up some that looked bad for more money and bought some really nice ones for 250-300 ! good luck either way

$400 IMO is too much. Ive paid $200 for non runners already with at least deck and carriage at minimum. If it had some wheel weights or lift assist maybe go to $250 but that's a pretty plain jane 102. If hes stuck at his price don't despair. Spring is coming and there will be other machines to buy.

Welcome to OCC BTW!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
