Default Free to me 129

Brought this one home last night. The guy I picked this one up from said he knew nothing about it.

Not too sure where this engine came from. It is not a K341 like the sticker shows because it only has nine head bolts. Has gear drive starter and what I assume are wires coming from the alternator. Whoever put this in never finished it.

The driveshaft is solid mount to the flywheel and I really like the PTO button.
NOT! Some people.

This one is going behind the shed until I have more time to mess with it.

Looks like someone put a different blower housing on it.

Free is always good. If nothing else, there’s lots of good parts there.

Yup. Free is good.
I'll try to get her running before I pluck the engine.
The block is yellow. I wonder if the shroud, starter, flywheel, and stator came off a blue tractor. (Ford?)

What other blue tractors are there?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
