Push button start modules are junk.
Your 2018 is under warranty
Take it to a dealer.
Module is like $175 if you're buying one. And doesn't come with a key.

Only other thing is you have to be sitting on the seat when starting those, once it's running you can get off if the brake is set and pto off.

Let us know what the dealer says and what they did to fix it. There are a few members here with the XT1.

Still under warranty, I'd never put a wrench on it.

Thanks guys. Hope I didn't void any warranty, but my yard desperately needs attention!

I will let you know.

Off to get the 1976 Ford (carburetor and ignition points) that NEVER fails to start.

What part of Tennessee are you in? I am in Lincoln county, close to Fayetteville.

Shop said "Bring it in, but we're booked four weeks"
I tried picking the guy's brain, explaining what I had done and obviously eliminated.

Because I don't want to wait four weeks and I frankly don't care about warranty at this point. Sell me the part and I'll put it on myself. Not only does my yard look like a hay field, we are technically shelter in place here.

I got him to reluctantly agree with me that it was probably the push button assembly.
$200.00, not in stock and non returnable.

I came home and hot-wired it. Yard mowed.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
