Well I removed the fenders and rear body panel. I’m surprised at how much debris has built up over the years! Crazy! Some spots was an inch think of junk!!!

Got more paint removed tonight. Slowly but surely making progress. Only put maybe 90 minutes in tonight. Hoping have the frame done this weekend. Then work on misc parts throughout next week. I have spoke to a machine shop. I’m dropping off my block and crank to be inspected and worked on. $60 for the bore. He’s going to clean it too. I didn’t think it was bad.

How does the driveshaft remove? Can’t tell what holds the clutch on. The screws are all rusted/corroded.

Thank you for everyone’s help and useful information!

Looks like you’re making good progress.

If you’re taking your pics with an Iphone, hold it sideways with the bottom of the phone to the right. Then, your pics will be the correct orientation.

Keep up the good work! I would like to add when cleaning/stripping parts:
For smaller parts, I use oven cleaner. I place all parts in a rubber made container, like an old plastic coffee can, or even a big plastic container and spray the parts with oven cleaner a bunch of oven cleaner and let the parts soak overnight. I buy the cheapest oven cleaner too, from dollar general.

I worked On the Cub Saturday for a couple hours. Started using my Dewalt orbital sander and it’s making a big difference.

I worked for a couple more hours last night. Had trouble getting the pins out to remove drive shaft so I just cut it.. I’ll buy a new one. Took the rear ended out of the frame. Working on getting the front suspension off the frame. The small keeper pin came out but not the pin that holds it in the frame.

And for the record. I’m taking pictures with my iPhone XS Max and doing as suggested. Holding it sideways with my right side as the bottom. My pictures are all flip flopped.. so annoying. I’m sorry.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
