Default Electric Linear Actuator Down Force Test

For those of you thinking about using a linear actuator to raise and lower your sleeve hitch. Here is a fabrication I recently built. This video shows that it is capable of lifting the rear end of a tractor that has near 400# on the rear wheels

here is the actuator I'm using. It came with the 782 when I bopught it. Brand new in the box!

Unfortunatly, no model number is available

The floor lift is a simple motorcycle, 1000 pound lift that was foot pump operated. I had the floor cut and converted the lift to Air over Hydraulics with a self contained pump. It runs off my shop compressor. Did this nearly 15 years ago. Can't imagine working on motorcycles or tractors without it!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
