Thank you.
My dad bought the 782 new. He used up up until his death in 1998. It sat up in a barn until I brought it over around about 15 years ago. After Dad’s death I used it a few times to cut the yard when I was visiting mom. I thought this would have been an easy fix but the shops in the area do not want to work on old equipment. |

And looks like they not only didn't fix it, but lost/stole parts. We will try to help get Dads Tractor running again |

Thanks.
I agree. I am learning that lesson. So now, I am tinkering on his old stuff and trying to be a DYI. Dad's old 1320 CC was condemned by a nearby CC shop who wanted to keep it for the junk pile and sell me a new one. The cam plate was the problem and fixed it for $20.00 (thanks to Ebay). It runs very well now. Thank you for your help. |

Glad to hear you're trying to get your ol' 782 running again.
Here's the link to the Kohler Service Manual mentioned by Ol'George earlier: https://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/...ead.php?t=4649 Should be able to find most everything in there. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
