Hello from Owego, NY!!
Just picked up a well-neglected 127 the end of the summer and have been working on rehab. Will add a picture when I can get out of work before sunset one of these days.
So far: - All around new tires (prior owner had them all around 50 psi, kinda did them in) including Ag rears and chains. - Plug, oil, filters, belts, grease, etc. - Added home-cobbled headlights and tail-lights for the plowing season - Working on correcting the wiring. Always reads discharging even when my meter says it's charging. Connectors and wire insulation breaking down. - Retrofit the plow from my other tractor. - Brake work, more to do still. Will post more as progress is made. |

Good to have another Narrow frame owner, they are great tractors and once you get it all serviced and running good, with routine maintenance, it will last longer than you live! My personal favorite series is the 1X6 and 1X7 series, which the 127 is from. Also, there's nothing wrong with home-cobbled headlights, both my 106 and 107 have them. Didn't drill any holes or anything to mount them up. Keep us posted, and around here, we like pictures IMG_20201126_123143.jpg IMG_20201009_182112.jpg To the left is the 107, with it's custom dual round lights. Simply mounted to a piece of cut aluminum, bent to fit in a small slot just beneath the battery box. To the right, the 106 with it's single rectangle light bar on the front grille. Both LED's, provide lots of bright light with barely any battery drain. (in the 2nd pic the tractors are on opposite sides of the first, but that's the only pic I have with the lights on). I'm interested to see your lights

So, here are some pictures
Here are some pictures of my Cub so far, just after clearing 46!!!! inches of snow on its maiden plowing journey. Working on some weights for future work as my 280lbs of dead weight was barely enough to get through this job.
This old beast is awesome, can't imagine what it'll be like when it's fixed up!! You can see the LED headlights on the front, the LEDs in the rear are mounted in holes that I drilled in the reflectors. Working on a more permanent solution for the tails but the heads work great as-is. Perfect ugliness!! |

That's a nice looking 127! I would be tempted to just keep it cleaned up. They make new wire harness that look close to the original style. I know wiring is a very common problem on that series.

I reckon if it can handle that load of snow, it'll handle about anything. Nice 127!

Yes, it looks pretty nice for sure, think I lucked out. And the prior owner was not exactly an electrical genius, still sorting through the mis-connections which is a bit harder since he painted over EVERYTHING so the wiring colors are gone. May eventually give up and order a new harness, we'll see what the Spring brings!

It's a beast for sure, I was shocked at how well it handled 'too much' snow.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
