Today I fixed the leaky tranny today, new axle seals, the bushings were in pretty good shape so I left them alone cleaned out the tranny and will refill with the proper OEM fluid.

Looking good Lew! Gonna do the final mow of the year with it? Can you do without the luxury of the cyclops?

Very nice find! I currently have 2 model 72's and a model 108 with a haban sickle mower. And I'm trying to locate an original or model 100.

I thought I would share this story with you today.

Well I have to update this because I got a call from the original owner today after 7 years. Apparently they saved my number and address and Lewis and Eunice told me they are moving. Well they came across this stuff, the missing cultivator axle, the owners manual for the tractor ,and some extra new parts in the garage and wanted to know if I wanted them. I told them I still have the 100 and I would send them money to ship it but they wanted to send the stuff to me with no charge for the shipping.
I have to say that there are some nice people out there still in this day and age.

Lew

Thank you for the reminder of Good People out there, and what a cool
story that started 7 years ago, or so. Oh and nice tractor as well.

That's a great story Lew.

You must have been a gentleman to deal with too, as they thought to reach out to you as they did.

Well done!

I'm sitting here rereading this for the second time, and I'm still awed. Not only did you get an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime deal for all that equipment, but they remembered you when they found more years later? That is something special!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
