Default Oil Bath Air Filter is restricive
I have a cub original with an oil bath air filter. It seems to run great with it off but as soon as I put it back on, it runs awful an sluggish. I would like to restore this air filter and have it back in working order so I can use it. Is there some kind of cleaning procedure I should follow? I'm not sure how to fix it.

Make sure that your oil level is correct in the cup. There should be a line about an inch or so long that indicates the oil level. The screen can be cleaned with carb cleaner. They are pretty straight forward.

Kerosene is the preferred solvent to clean the element and parts.

Ya, I've been filling it up to the correct level, its just the metal mesh i think is the problem

I would soak that "mesh" with kerosene, or some other solvent.

Swish it around in some kerosene, and blow dry (from the inside to the out).

Repeat a few times and you're GTG.
