Never Owned One Until Today.......m
Found a JD 312 today! Looks like its in good condition, but has not operated in a few years. Don't know anything about a JD, but this one is in the 300 series, made for only two years from 1977 through 1978. Haven't checked the serial number yet, but the tractor is a hydro drive. Model did not come from factory with side panels or amp meter. I'll post pictures tomorrow if I can.

Congrats! The 312 is one of the better looking JD's in my opinion.

IF..............I went green, I would get a 140H3. Then the 300 series. But I doubt that will happen.

The 140 H3 is the best looking JD in my opinion. I'd buy one in a heartbeat if i could find one that was reasonably priced..

I wanted the 140, too! They go for good money. My Dad has the 318 and I'm impressed.

Well, the uploads fail. Don't know why,...l good though. Needless to say, the JD got sold! They are a good tractor, but honestly the 1650 i just got is set up so much better. Yes, I got it with the cash I sold the JD for lol!

Those Deers were made made when throw-away hadn't been invented.
Unlike the junk Sabers that followed. |

It's not easy being green......
So, my choice for a JD would be from any of their patio series GT's. The 300 series are nice, though. Your 1650 will serve you well. Cub Cadet 123

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
