Default Sltx1050

I'm new to the forum. I have been Googling a hydro-gear cross-reference for my hydro-gear SLTX1050 tractor, with zero results.

Does anyone know if a 618-0319 hydro-gear will replace a 618-04270b hydro-gear?

My 2011 SLTX1050 tractor has the 618-0427B hydro-gear, and needs replacing. I have found used ones for $500 and above.

I have found 618-0319 for around $200.

Thank you,

First welcome to OCC..........

The Cub Cadet website states it is a Hydro-Gear "0610" transmission.

I went to the Hydro-Gear website. Couldn't navigate well there.

The best I can offer, is that the 618-0319 transmission was used on the following Cub Cadet tractors.

According to the Cub parts web site....
The 618-04270b (now 918-04270b) is a 610 model Hydro Gear.
The 618-0319 (now 918-0319) is a 510 model Hydro Gear.
Here is the service manual that covers both.
https://www.hydro-gear.com/25a844c83...N-51260_P8.pdf
There are exploded views and parts lists on pages 32-35.
There are differences that appear to be external bolt on stuff.
Your best bet would be to call Hydro Gear and ask.

Assume you are aware of the recall on these so if you buy a used one, check the s/n.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
