This is where I got mine.
https://www.amazon.com/Briggs-Stratt.../dp/B005F6P838 Two ends go to the armatures, the single end goes to a spade connector on a stud mounted on the blower housing, right side of the engine inside. Outside, another spade connector the tractor engine harness connects to. If you don't have the engine harness connected on the outside, you can't ground the armatures to kill the engine. |

I am one to share info.
I will try to make things clear when I have this back up to Par. I have been tracing wires for weeks (when I have time) I have been working a lot of hours at work. Here is what I have found in my spare time. I used the Wiring Diagram for 1641 that is shared on this site. What I found was Previous owner swaped terminals in the plugs The Ground terminal was in the switch the blue terminal was on ground to switch. cub1.JPG I have got only one more issue to resolve then I will fire it up. . |

Yes
After I found the bad diode that was pinched in the engine guards on the 1st page of this thread. Thanks to help from Cannon51 & Mike McKown I used the wiring diagram in the link above . I removed the harness and reconfigured it like it's supposed to be. The PO had moved wires around in the ignition switch For what reason It runs like a top now. . |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
