Default K241 swap between 106 and 100

I have a good running K241A from a '71 CC 106 that I would like to swap with a questionable K241 off of a '64 CC 100. Will this be a drop in or is it going to take some backyard engineering?

Also, the CC 100 has a Carter Model N 26 carb and the 106 has a Chinese carb - will the Carter fit on the 106 K241?

The only hang up that I could think of is the "oil pan". Other than that, it should drop right in.

Great, thanks Roland.

A follow up question then - do you think the oil "pans" will switch out between the engines to make them fit better?

The oil pans WILL interchange.

There’s no need to touch the oil pan. I pulled a K301 from a 126 and dropped it into my 100. The deep sump pan fits the 100 just fine. You will need to disconnect the clutch release arm to lift the front of the driveshaft in order to get the end of the shaft into the pilot bushing since the oil pan sump hits the front axle channel as the engine is dropping in.

Great news from both Roland and Adam - thanks guys. Since the 106 engine already has new gaskets top and bottom and fresh oil, I'll not mess with that. I'm in process of removing the head and oil pan from the 100 engine just to see what I can see. It moves freely, which is good. I had to mill off about 1/8" of iron on the exhaust port where the exhaust must have broken years ago - the milling also worked well and there is still plenty of iron and threads to hold a new iron pipe.

Do either of you see any issues with switching carbs on these engines? The 100 has a Carter N26 and the 106 has a Chinese knockoff of an IH carb.
