42" snow plow bracket question
Anybody know what model tractor this lift arm is designed for? The plow is for a WF and fits my 782 but the lift arm doesn't lift it more than an inch so before I yank it I'd like to understand the purpose of this particular design. Thanks.

I have one of those on the shelf, but is does not have and holes in it. It is for a 193-402-100 blade adapter kit for an lawn tractor.

I picked up a correct lift bracket for the blade. Here they are side by side. I still can't figure out what that big one on the right is for, or why the rectangular slot.

I looked that up and it does look similar but without the holes. In the parts diagram, however, the slot appears to be slanted the opposite way and the slot in mine is too small for the rod to fit thru.

Yeah, here's the 193-402-100 kit showing that bracket. The rod with that kit must be quite a bit thinner than the regular rod in order to fit in that slot.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
