deck
One of the things I did last year was strip the deck down to the shell. All the pieces were rusted pretty badly, but the shell itself is sound. I'm going to seal the underside with POR (?), clean up the top a bit and paint it.
That 1863 I bought for parts actually came with all the pieces from its deck, but the shell had rusted out. Everything transfers to the 54" deck. I'm in the process of de-rusting and figuring out what I need to buy (and from whom). Definitely going to need all those special should bolts, wheel axles etc. All the standard bolts I bought new last year. I'll need the idler pulley and spring. Rear deck baffle. blades. I don't really expect to use this deck much but I do want to get it looking good and working well before I put it up.
