Cub Cadet 1730 ??
I saw a local ad for a model 1730 , today. It looks pretty good, but has a weak reverse . It looks like a good one to restore , but I am disabled & may have a hard time making the repairs. What are your thoughts on this one ? If someone is interested, let me know & I will send you the link. It is in North Central Florida.

The 1730 is an MTD built "lawn tractor". As long as you know, what you may get into, all is well.

The 1730 is just as Roland said, it is a lawn mower. as long as it works fine, use it.
It is not a desirable/collectible garden tractor that one would spend time on "restoring" under most circumstances. it is considered a consumable light duty lawnmower, I equate it to a diaper, useful and needed but once it's done it's job, pitch and forget it. It is not like an older sturdy built Cub, Deere/wheel horse etc. built 40 years ago. I mean no disrespect to anyone, just telling it as it is. They were made inexpensively to last 10 years. If you have a fondness for it because it was what you learned to drive on, or your departed grandfathers/dads, by all means do as you like. Do understand when you are done restoring, the value is in your eyes, not as a "collectible" of any real value. Just my take.
