Help with wiring a re-engined 782
Hello all, been a long time since I’ve posted here as life has gotten in the way of restoring these old cubs. My wife connected me with a local lady who has a CCC 782 that she sent to someone for engine work; it sat for 4 years with him and she finally was fed up and had it brought to me. At some point it was re-engined with a CH-23, and I have it re-installed but am running into wiring issues. Firstly, the engine has a fuel shutoff solenoid, but I can’t find a wire in the tractor’s harness with a matching plug (though a number have been cut!) I am assuming it needs a key-on hot wire, but wanted to check with those who may know these best. Secondly, it has a low-oil cutoff, but again no wires anywhere to connect to it. If I were to wire this in, what should it connect to? Will it run without being connected? Lastly, there is a purple wire coming from what I believe is the voltage regulator, that looks like it should go to the starter. The starter on the motor doesn’t match the one in the engine manual (manual shows a stud and a spade, starter has 2 studs) and there’s some other wires that have unknown destinations as well, a blue wire that splices to a red and goes under the frame and a black with a small bolt zip-tied to it. Any help would be appreciated; I know cobbled wiring like this creates big headaches! Will try to attach some pictures.

Generally the low oil shutoff either runs a light (no oil pressure = ground which completes the circuit) or grounds out ignition (same way).
My 1811 has a factory looking one that runs a light key on (I'm guessing Kohler learned after the KT17 and added light + oil filters to Mags), same with my 1711 that I repowered with a CH18s.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
