108 engine with dead tractor attached
How much is a functional 10 hp Kohler on a 108 worth with a non-functional 108 tractor attached? (clutch needs total replacement, tires questionable, various other little problems, all fixable for someone more skilled and motivated than me.) Northern MN.

I've seen running 10hp motors go for $100. Maybe a little more if the pto works. Mike

Thanks. the only catch is they have to take the tractor too, but hopefully that won't be a problem. I have heard of people paying 200 for IH cubs in my area running or not, but I can't substantiate that rumor

Its probably a good $2-300 machine if the engine runs, maybe $350 depending on if any attachments or a creeper is present. Clutch rebuild is a relatively simple task and common issue for those more experienced with Cubs.

$100 can go down the tubes rather quickly on a clutch rebuild for parts alone if needed.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
