Great , and thanks . So I have an 88 1811 with 50"C deck out in the driveway I'm going to spend some time with today . Nice weather down here and I'm bored . I'll post some pics a little later on today . I have to find and cut some aluminum diamond plate for the foot panels as usual just to spiffy the looks up . Thanks Cub and Oak for the info .

Not sure if it loaded . Hey , it did . One quick question that I have . Where is the safety lockout on the clutch if there is one ? This ran last year , battery is charged , oil light and all gauges working as well as lights . Will not crank over . I just got out of surgery and can't go crawling around much under this yet , just looking for a quick clue . Thanks .

You have to be in the seat (Seat Switch) turn the PTO Switch off, and depress the LH Brake Pedal (Brake safety Switch) for the engine to roll over. This of course, is assuming everything is factory original, and functioning correctly.

Yep Roland . Seat switch is by-passed . PTO is definately off . Thats why I'm thinking brake safety switch if it has a lock out on it . I just dug out my stacks of CC and IH books that I've kept for 10-15 years , I'll go thru them and reaquaint myself with all the electronic glitches that I've forgotten over the years . Thumbing thru them makes me want to get back into them seeing all these pics . Cadet Connection Mags are running rampit at this point ! LOL .

You have a beautiful looking 1811. I would jump the solenoid to see if the starter engages. That will rule out the starter motor, battery, and solenoid/related wiring. Betting on a stuck PTO relay, or defective brake switch.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
