Rare Cub - 3000 Series
In today's searching, I have found a very rare Cub. This is from the last year International owned Cub Cadet. I texted the seller and the story is as follows.
His Dad bought the mower new in the 90's. The MTD rep came to the dealership and changed the decals to MTD. I tried to tell him that it is not possible but he was having none of that. Only thing I can figure is time travel is involved. I took screen shots and sent to him but he will not believe. Here is the ad below... https://huntsville.craigslist.org/gr...469804242.html Here is what the ad says at the bottom. Riding mowers, Good mowers, new batteries Cub Cadet has Mtd stickers but this mower is one owner and it was the last year built by International, Hydraulic deck, hydrostat 18HP power steering, 48" cut $1400....... Red murray 17HP OHV $600........ Green Craftsman 14.5 HP hydrostat 42" cut $600

The Seller is full of Crap. The last series owned by IH was the 82 Series tractors and they sold off to CCC/MTD in April 1981.
That tractor is way beyond 1981.

I found an article explaining this and he said he did not believe the internet. I wanted to ask him he thought the earth was flat, but I did not. He was already getting mad at me.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
