Default 1811 front tires

My presumably original front tires are done. This mower never does anything but cut grass, however it gets put in some very hilly places thanks to loaded rear ag tires. I’ve seen the front try to slip a bit on turns on hills. Would you stick with turf tires or is there something that has more bite but doesn’t tear up the lawn?

I would use good turf tires -- Carlisle Turf Master or Multi Trac C/S

I wonder if V61's would give you a little more side bite. I have a pair waiting to go on but haven't got around to it yet.

The V61 Give Him better steering control. But Bite for steep Hills a new set of Turfs will do that better then the V61. All My Cub Garden tractors Have V61 On the front except for Original, 70 and XT3GSX But Probably the Best for Not sliding On Hills sides would be this https://www.millertire.com/16x6-50-8...ac-4-ply-tire/ and they won't tear up the turf

Cheapest Carlisles were $46 each. These were $35. They mounted up well and hold air well without tubes. We shall see how long they last before they dry rot.

I put a pair of tri-ribs on my 782. About $65 with tubes. They don't tear up the lawn, no side skid, and steer like power steering.

Try Walmart's website or Farm & Fleet if you have any nearby. Turf savers for 982 fronts were less than that when I quoted them 2 weeks ago

However, I'd go with the Turf Master or Multi Trac

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
