Unhappy LT1042 Wiring Diagram

This site has been incredible as I'm rebuilding/restoring some cub cadets as a new hobby this spring. Just found this thread and I seem to have come across a similar issue. That shared link is no longer working (realize it's been years). I see the two points, my only real question is which wire is positive coming out of the electric PTO itself (both black in my case). And likewise, in the wiring terminal, is the vertical or horizontal positive/negative? Any help is appreciated, otherwise I'll trial and error it and report back.

Those wires most likely go to the electric pto.
There should be a separate little bracket keeping the top of pto from spinning around, sometimes that little bracket comes loose and falls off and then the spinning part of the pto that should not be spinning will spin and knock off the belt keeper and rips it's wiring out with it.

Default Thanks All

Yep, links were all helpful. Dummy me ran the pto without the bracket and it ripped the wire. Not sure if intentional or not but the connector they use makes this a very easy fix. Thanks again for the help all

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
