New member and a quick question
Hi.
I'm new here and looking forward to using and contributing to this resource. Last May I picked up LTX 1042 (model: 13AX91AS010) for a very reasonable price. New tires, battery, blades and belts later, along with a tuneup and oil change it runs and cuts fine. Sometime before I bought it it was re-engined with a Kohler CV15 engine from a Craftsman riding mower (at least the cover on the engine says "Craftsman"). I've been trying to understand the functions of the various parts, both mechanical and electrical and have the function of about everything figured out except one part. What does part number 725-04232, 3 Pole Switch do? This thing: https://mowthelawn.com/products/cub-...UaAqOaEALw_wcB |

It's a safety switch.
If it has 6 pins? I've not seen one like it. Usually have 2 or 4 pins.

That's your brake switch. Here's a link to a wiring diagram.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
