Ran across this ad for this machine close by so it caught my attention.
I have never seen nor worked on anything this new. So question is. Who out there owns tractor of this series or knows much about them. I certainly would not give anything close to asking price for seized engine. Is the machine in general worth spending some time and money on. I would more then likely just be looking at it as a project to get running and send it down the road. Make a little money to fund my Cub habit. thanks https://bozeman.craigslist.org/grd/d...2006-cubcadet- 1500/7539057122.html Ken |

I had 2 of them, they are easier to work on when the engine is not seized, then they become parts tractors. But are you sure It could be a pto bearing seized up. Remove the pto and see if it turns over.

Thanks Lew, I have not seen it or even talked to the seller. My mind was
going similar places with maybe its not the engine with only 80 hrs. Or so the add says. Were the 2 you had decent machines? Ken |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
