Back from the dead in Maryland
Been using my 1811 for some 20 years to mow and plow.
(My first big purchase on eBay) Recently, it started acting up, so I’ve shown it some love. Replaced idler pulley, carburetor, then an ignition module. Needless to say, it’s become my new-old hobby. After watching a bunch of YouTube videos from various contributors, I’ve decided to add the front hydro ports and the power tilt for my plow. Stuff is starting to come in (merry Christmas to me) Will probably wait until warmer weather to do the conversion because I work outside and I don’t want to be without my plow if we get snow. Stay tuned! Marc |

I love mine. Although the 1862 starts better in the cold with that big car battery!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
