Default Thinking of buying 2014 LT GTX 2100- Thought?

Hi all.
Don't know much about Cub Cadet other than their reputation being dependable, but that was awhile ago before they got sold from IH.
I'm looking at a 2014 GTX2100. It seems like good opinions out there. What should I stay away from? What I'm looking for something to cut grass but still use it to till a garden, use a snow throwing attachment, haul some rock etc.
Any such thing exist out there??

Any opinions, thoughts would be appreciated.

Ain't much available for attachments for the 2100 series
I found that out the hard way when I bought my 2100 GTX2154LE 59th anniversary edition Cub.
With only an electric lift for the deck it's pretty limited
Hell of a mower but that's about all I can say about it.
An outfit called Bercomac out of Canada built some add on accessories so I was told but I never checked them out.

This is all what's listed on the CCC/MTD site as being for the 2100 series Cubs
19A40004 Triple Rear Bagger 19A40004100
19A40019 44-Inch Snowblower 19A40019100
19A40020 48-Inch Snowblower 19A40020100
19A40022 46-Inch Snow Blade 19A40022100
19A70023 54-Inch Mulch Kit 19A70023100
307 Front/Rear Weight Kit 190-307-100

I wound up buying a 1650 & #2 tiller and have been happy with it.

I posted a reply under your welcome to occ post. This post gives a bit more information.

The rear ends were much heavier under IH than Cub Cadet Corp. However the 2000 series still has horizontal crank shaft engine with drive shaft to the rear end. Not a belt like almost everything else these days.

Regarding Bercomac, I have a high opinion of their snow blowers. I almost bought one but my 2185 was old enough that they wouldn't tell me if it fit or not. I ended up buying 2 used 3000 series tractors for less than one new berco snow blower. Berco also has a rotary broom that uses the same sub-frame as the snow blower. I want one, but they won't fit my 3000 series without more modification that I am willing to do. Check out the you tube videos from Jeremy Peterson. The XT3 is basically a 2000 series tractor re-branded. See his Berco snow blower.

Cub Cadet used to make a tiller for this tractor. They are cool, rare no longer made and hard to find. Berco also makes a tiller, you can see their website.
With that being said, don't buy this tractor for garden tilling. If you are getting for free from a family member, that's a different story. You can do sleeve hitch and plow or disk or cultivate but tilling is not well suited in 2021 anymore for a GTX2100. This tillers are not widely available anymore. Snow removal or lawn mowing no problem. Tilling will be harder to find the implement.

If you want to till look at Simplicity LegacyXL, JD X700 series or go to subcompact series tractor. Something with a Cat1 3pt hitch and a 540 pto.

Take a look at Johnnyproducts.com. Out of Milwaukee area I think. They have buckets and hitches.

Just something to point out for the after 2011 2000 series which a GTX200 series is from

There Was Never an OEM tiller for the 2011 & Post 2011 2000 series

Now the Pre-2011 Back to 1994 There were Two tiller available, There was a belt driven 28-inch Mechanical tiller with it Own On board electric lift actuator That was Manufacturer from 1994 till 2002. Starting In 2002 there was a 30-inch Belt driven Hydraulic tiller used a belt driven Hydraulic Pump that ran off the front PTO. I had one Myself on my 2002 2206. That Utilized an electric Lift sleeve Hitch to raise and Lower the 30-inch Hydraulic driven tiller

Do to a Larger Gas Tank Being Put On the 2011 2000 series They Changed the rear Hitch Plate, so It could Not accommodate the Pre-2011 electric Lift sleeve Hitch, so the Hydraulic tiller could not be utilized

Another Thing to Point out about this tractor, It utilizes the same Transmission final drive and out case that was utilized In the GT3100 But Had a BDU 10 Pump instead of a BDU21 Pump the GT3100 had.

I will also differ with the statement That these are Not Good Tilling tractors.

They are Great tilling and Plowing tractors, I have Both for My 2018 XT3 GSX

I have a Bercomac 30-inch Belt driven PTO Tiller, I also have the OEM sleeve Hitch with the Johnny Products electric lift upgrade. The Upgrade I do have over the GTX2100 is I have Hand Level activated Diff/lock. But Other than that They're basically the same Tractor

The Onboard electric Lift, lifts the Mowing decks and OEM front Dozer Blade. That said I recommend going with Johnny Products electric Lift and angle front Blade over the OEM 46-inch Dozer Blade as I find the OEM front Blade Is to short In height. I do Plan On adding the Johnny Bucket and front Blade to the XT3 GSX this year some time

Something to Point Out
Bercomac 30-inch Tiller Left Production in April 2021. While it is still shown on the website's Main Landing Page, it is No Longer In Production. And Limited to dealer stock. But this dealer http://www.jimsrepairjimstractors.com/ May still have a Bercomac tiller or Two In stock

Unfortunately, The OEM sleeve Hitch for the GTX2000 & XT3 series model 19A40041100 is No Longer available from MTD. Your Only choice is now this sleeve Hitch https://www.johnnyproducts.com/J_Buc...eeve_Hitch.htm Now The Universal sleeve Hitch from Johnny Products is the Only one to fit the GTX2000 & XT3 series. John does make a sleeve Hitch for the Older 2000 & 2500 series, But it will Not Fit On the GTX2000, GT2000 or XT3 Series. The OEM sleeve Hitch for the XT1 or XT2 Garden tractors also will not fit On the GTX2000 series
The whole downside through most of the 2011 and after 2000 series there was not an OEM sleeve Hitch available Until 2015. That's why I held off so Long on upgrading my wife's Cub Cadet 2206 until the OEM sleeve Hitch came out for the XT3 series. I do recommend Johnny Product's electric lift sleeve Hitch. I have one on my 2004 John Deere GX335.

So don't be afraid of the GTX2000 series. With the aftermarket sleeve Hitch I mentioned above, they are just as Capable as the Old IH narrow & wide frames.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
