Default Wheel weights question
A friend gave me 2 sets of wheel weights. 1 set are CC. The 2nd set are not CC some odd, same 4 bolt holes. 2nd set are really heavy. I can pick only 1 up at a time (the CC weights one in each hand). Cutouts for valve stem. No hole in center, thicker overall. Would this heavier set work on my 149 or 1650? I'm concerned about the weight and axle housings and axles. I do not have a scale to weigh them. Thanks again.

I wouldn't worry about the overall weight, as some guys liquid fill their rear tires and use external weights. Cub Cadet offered 75lb weights on some of their tractors, so I don't see an issue with their use, as long as they are for 12" wheels, and they have the same bolt pattern that matches up with the wheels.

I run 85# Bolen wheel weights on my 784, and have done so for 20+ yrs with no ill effects.

Wheel weights are considered "unsprung weight", meaning that the weight is not supported in any way but the chassis or suspension. Therefore the weight is no sweat to the tractor.
The only thing in consideration would be how much weight can the tires endure.

Thanks guys. Not sure when I got these tires. Two of my older CC 10hp and 147 have new tires, well you know new 10 yrs ago. Time fly's as you age.
