Talking Diesel throwing blue smoke uphill

I have a 7234 Cub-Cadet (1996), 23hp, diesel tractor with 1360 hrs on it....I bought it last year and haven't used it much since, save ploughing out my driveway in the winter and hauling a little brush. I noticed she blows what looks to be blue smoke going up hill, otherwise no smoke at all. I don't see any oil usage, but again, I haven't used it much. I did change the oil when I bought it as it was black as could be...Now I know blue smoke indicates oil burning, but why up hill?...Could it be because it's under load which in and of itself indicates a problem or does it indicate an oil pickup problem/circulation in the oil pan....Otherwise, it doesn't falter power-wise and she doesn't smoke a bit aside from that. Easy to start and run winter and summer....Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated...As I'm thinking of ripping the head off it, lest the problem indicates a vacuum problem to any of you great motor-heads instead.

Thanks in advance.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
