Default Are 2166 and 2186 parts interchangeable?

Just a quickie here - I have a GT2186 that needs some body parts replaced, and could use some spare parts. A local guy has a 2166 "parts" machine for sale cheap. Will "most" parts - hood, pedals, some engine bits etc fit my 2186?

Thanks in advance!

2166 engine is a 16hp single
2186 is an 18hp twin, no spares there.
I'm pretty sure the rearrnd the different. The hood tin might be the same.

As Ozcubowner stated, they're the exact same tractor except for tire sizes and engine horsepower. The hood tin is all the same, and even the throttle cables are the same.

My former Cub dealer (one of the site sponsors here) put bigger tires on a 2135 back in the day for someone who utilized the 190-304-100 28-inch PTO tiller, and the 2135 was marketed as a shaft-driven lawn tractor.

The 2000/2500 series from 1994 until 2010 are basically all the same Tractors the 2500 series has a cast iron transmission carrier while the 2000 has aluminum transmission carriers, but basically the same internals with a BDU 10 pump. The 2500 series eventually went to Poly Hoods

What Sargeant said , but we both forgot the seat changed as you got to the top model
And apparently those early model 2500 series had plastic hood problems (melting and or breaking)

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
