I was away for a week or so and had a chance to revisit this project yesterday.
Progress is happening, I found the short! Turns out the Amazon replacement relay I purchased was shorting internally. I removed an OEM relay from another tractor I have and short is gone, all green wires are now grounded and not heating up! I will pay the piper and buy an OEM replacement for the tractor that this one was borrowed from. As I reflect for a moment while the prices are very attractive, I've only had about a 50% success rate with key and PTO switches from Amazon, add relays to this list. Glow plugs are working, fuel pump is on and tractor is turning over. Next steps are compression test and verification of fuel to the injectors.

Great pictures.
Quick question - Is the 1572 wiring harness the same as 782D? There are several breaks in my 782D harness. Mowing along PTO stops jiggle the harness it engages again. One break is around CB/voltage regulator. Looking to install a new wire harness in my 782D if one is available. Bob G. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
