Default 2086 Drive Shaft tunnel Cover Information needed
I have a nice 2086 but the drive shaft tunnel cover is pretty rough...broken plastic. Are there any metal covers that would fit the opening on a 2086. It appears that it would require cutting a slot for the hydraulic lift height indicator, but is there more? I can do a little fab work, but welding is out.

I would check with the sponsors at the top of the page. The early SGT's used a metal cover so they should fit I would think.

I tried that as I have the same issue.
no go
broken and cracked plastic.
Get's stepped on and kicked by gunboats mounting and dismounting plus kids standing on them.
Would like to meet the guy that thought that was a good idea!!

Looking at the parts diagram, it looks like the metal cover from any of the cyclops supers will work. They all have the same deck height setup from what I found.

That's the first thing I thought of as well.
The tower is different in that area though.
I'll have mine out later today and will get a couple pictures for Ya.

Thanks finsruskw. While you are taking pictures, I have another request. The hydraulic lift/stop control rod had been removed. I got the rod and have got the clevis it attaches to coming soon. What I need is a picture that shows how the assembly and clevis attaches to the shaft. The part book diagram is not very clear on how the pieces assemble. A picture would save me a lot of frustration.

Leaving in the AM for a plow day will be back Sunday
Did learn than a Super tunney cover is too long.
Best to fit a standard cover to the 2086.
I may do that as well
The plastic cover would be a great project for a printer
Will get back to you w pic's on the rod.
Hope you did not screw up the 1/4" fine left hand thread on the front of that rod like I did!!

Maybe I am reading this wrong. The tunnel covers should be interchangeable. The tower and level indicator parts are the same on SGT's with the plastic and metal tunnel covers. Look up the 2082 and the 2086 to confirm. On the regular GT's the covers are interchangeable, I have had both on my 1541.

Nope.2082 takes the metal cover
2086 takes the plastic cover
You will have to butcher the metal cover or the tower, maybe both.

As for the deck stop rod.
Note the large skinny 2" flat washer on the clevis pin beside the threaded rod.
It goes on the pin before you thread the rod into it.
The 1/4' nut on the very end of the rod is LEFT HAND THREAD!
