679cc EFI XT2 hesitates when started..
My 2017 with 128 hours Cub Cadet EFI XT2 is push button start, when I start it, I push it in wait a few seconds then she turns over..however when she turns over she acts like I have a bad battery, it seems to effort to get the first turn, then turns over and starts.
So being the battery was 5 years old I replaced with with a new 200CCA the one in it was 300CCA, the guy said I would not need 300 unless I was using it in winter which I do not.. Then I charged it up and it does the same thing. it is a 2017 with 128 hours on it.. Any help appreciated. |

For my money a lot of issues like this get resolved by making sure all
wiring in the start circuit are clean, bare metal and tight. You already eliminated one variable, the battery, that's good. Take a look at where the wiring goes into start button. Clean? Go from there clear to where the wires attach to starter itself and all points in between. I can't speak specifics to your machine as I don't know it but. A whole lot of maintenance issues (hopefully that is what it is) are the same for the new machines as well as the old ones. Dive in and see what you see. Ken |

Welcome to OCC..........
To add to what West Valley said, make sure both Battery Cables, on each end, are clean, bright and tight.

Anyone know what the Valve Clearance is for the 679cc V Twin EFI Cub Cadet..it's not a Kohler or Kawasaki, apparently its a China Engine...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
