Default 3225 travel speed reducing

I have noticed my 3225 is "slowing down" Reverse has always been very slow but forward is now slow. I have seen threads related to this and one common fix is to replace the pedal bushings and adjust the pedal travel. When pressing the reverse pedal I can manually reach down and pull up on the forward pedal and the speed increases. All hydraulics appear to be working fine.

Can someone explain how to replace the bushings or make adjustments to the linkage to gain more speed? Looking at the parts diagrams I don't see any reference to bushings and I don't have a service manual that discusses how to adjust pedal speed.

Thanks!

Download the book Mr. Lew posted.

Go to the Cub parts look-up in the yellow box above.

Put in your model # and then go to the "Brake & control pedals" tab.

It's been a long time since I have done one but IIRC you will need the quantity it lists for part # 41, 42 & 43.

The speed adjustment is covered in the book but I'd replace the bushings first.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
