682 ignition switch problem
My 682 ran fine when parked ( where have I heard that before? ) Now when I try to start it it dies as soon as I let go of the key, could the ignition contact be bad? I turn the key to start and it starts and dies when the key is at run.
Thanks for any help.

Replace the Ignition Switch (725-3021).

Common to have corroded/burnt terminals/plug at the rear of the battery/ignition switch. Remove connector, inspect for defects, clean and reinstall. See if it works. If not, replace the switch with a correct switch made for point style ignitions.

Yes it was corrosion at the ignition switch, I cleaned the contacts and she started and ran fine. Thanks for the help. I'm surprised it corroded since it's stored under roof.

That is a design flaw with these Cubs. There is a great deal of current going through those small terminals. The least bit of corrosion begins and then resistance, and with that comes heat, then melted connectors, then open circuit.
