Cub Cadet 1862 front tire inner tubes
Bought 2 new 16x6.5 x 8 tires for front of my 1862. Tire shop just up the road from me took old tires off and put new ones on rims. I used my old tubes. They held air good. Brought them home Monday and today both tires are flat. Evidently the tire guy punctured both tubes. Should new tubes have the valve in inner middle of tube or should they be off set to side a little. All the tubes I have seen online are in middle of tube. Do they make a tube with off set valve and if so is that what I need. All help appreciated. Have a great day.

Hey Bob, sorry about the flat tires. I don't know the answer as to valve
stem position on tubes. I am curious however. Are the rims in bad shape so that the new tires need tubes? Seems like good rims and new tires should hold air without tubes. Ken |

I only have one tire with a tube out of 40, because of a dry rot issue. The rest are as intended-tubeless. If the bead is clean, and no puncture wounds, the tires should stay inflated for several months.

1862 flat front tires
Thanks to all that responded. Have always used tubes. Don't know why. Will have the mechanic look at rims and see what he thinks about going tubeless. Will have to buy a couple tubeless valve stems. Thanks and have a great day.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
