2518 with very tight pto to deck belt
I bought a 2518 used from someone and it needed a new PTO clutch but ran.
I bought a new clutch and belt for a 2518. It seems to me that the PTO belt is very tight. The belt is the correct one for the 2518 model. The deck does not have any model numbers on it. What could cause the belt to be soo tight? It seems like the correct tightness is when the arm for the tension pullet is not even engaged.

I confirmed that the belt is the correct number and it is cub cadet brand belt.
Can someone give me the dimensions of the PTO diameter outside, inside and width. Just to make sure this is not causing the issue. Any other ideas.

What did you put on it for a PTO? Did you compare it to the PTO that you removed?

good point, I think I held the old one up and checked the outside circumference but am not sure if i checked the inside. Let me see if I can find a measurement of what it should be and check that. Ill let you know when i find out.
