Default Cub Cadet 149 vs Barnyard...

Don’t know if video links are allowed, but here is a video I made a few weeks ago of my 149 knocking down some tall grass around my barn.

That's some serious bushogging with that little dude.

It did a good job.

I reclaimed a section of my yard from the weeds next to the neighboring crop field about 15x50ft that the previous owner let over grow.
Took my 1450 and the first pass just creeping along with the deck fully raised. passed multiple times to mulch it up and finally got down to the regular grass height. That was late in spring and its looking almost like the rest of the lawn. Need to dethatch and roll it but as long as you don't bog it down the decks can handle the wild weeds.

I know it's fun using a cub for big tractor work, I sometimes do the same. I have a 350 IH and a 400 Farmall that do a much better job. It looks like you have a 300 Farmall and a 300 IH with a loader and 5 foot bush hog that might feel left out . If they had feelings.

Sure!!! We like lots of pictures and videos on the site, so continue posting them. The 149 is a very capable machine. The hydraulic lift and smooth operation made it easy to use for lots of projects. I like the 149 so much, I keep two of them in my collection, one with a FEL and the other ready for snow duty with a cab and 42" snow thrower. It is great to see them put up to a task that you would not think they would accomplish very well and then being surprised by the outcome. Keep in mind that these tractors were originally made in the image of the bigger tractors. Try some tri-rib skinnies on the front and it will seem like you have power steering! Thanks for sharing your photo and story.....looking forward to seeing lots more.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
