42" snow plow skid shoe thread
I have a 42" manual-tilt plow that fits right up to my WF cub cadets. It has an old IH sticker on it but I can't find a nameplate or any other identification on it anywhere. From pictures it looks to me just like an OEM plow that came with the 1x9-era tractors although I know this plow did not come with this particular tractor. My plow is rusty but otherwise in good shape, but it's missing the skid shoes which I definitely need. Does anyone know what thread pitch and diameter the threaded portion would be?
Edit: Found it in a parts manual (I think). Looking in the CPE-2A Blades Parts from the technical reference pages it looks like I want IH PN 466 906 R11. Also looks like it specifies 1/2" threads, I'm assuming UNC (1/2-13). Does that sound right, can anyone confirm? Before someone says just try a 1/2" bolt, The threads are all busted up so I'll have to re-tap for whatever eventually goes in there. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
