That's too bad that the landowner forced their hand. I guess I'm surprised Buck was renting all along, and AHW must have decided they weren't going to fall for that.

Yes, quite a few years ago. It's too bad, but another member listed the reasons that I had also heard. Odd to me, seems more locations would generate more income to overcome money shortages.

I believe Helm lost the lawsuit and the need to close down their other dealerships and take on other partners to stay a Float He had just Purchased the Elburn Location In early 2015, and the accident was In late summer 2017. Sometime after, I bought a Cub Cadet XT2 GX54 D from their Elburn location. I went there Next spring (2018), and it was gone. Crystal Lake was still open at that time. But closed sometime after 2018. I think he rented Both the Crystal Lake and Elburn dealership locations.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
