Need carburetor info for SV541-3212 Cadet
I'm a new member and this is my first post. I own the Cub Cadet
Model :13AVA1CS056, SV541-3212. I'm having no luck finding the COMPLETE repair kit for the carburetor, part #KH-20-853-95-S. I found this carb kit fine online, but I only need the rebuild kit with O ring, needle valve, jet, ...etc. so I can rebuild my existing carb. I think using the original carb might be best instead of trying some other brand. Also, can someone provide me a link to a video/pics, or all detailed steps to adjust the carb air/fuel mixture once I replace this carb with a new one? Are there two adjusting screws or just one? I'm pretty sure I've determined I need to rebuild orf replace the carburetor but want to try adjusting the carb CORRECTLY. I'm sure I've ruled out any other issues/replaced other parts that could be causing an engine surging problem. |

You can read all about your carb in the Fuel System section of the Service Manual for your Kohler Courage here.....

Thanks Ironman, that link helped a lot however, the manual mentions that I should adjust the low idle screw then adjust the low idle fuel adjustment needle. The fuel needle is attached to the float inside the bowl. I don't see anywhere in this manual that shows a fuel adjustment needle in addition to the float needle. Am I understanding what's being said in this manual?
Also, should I worry about replacing welch plugs if they are clean already? |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
