The 1862 is a Kohler M18. Cleaning the cooling fins is still good advice and does require removing the engine to do properly.

Thanks to all that replied. Finished all my therapy for my back. Back is a little better but almost anything I do makes it hurt. Just have to learn to live with it.
Too old for back surgery. Have a great day.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens.
