That's a great deal but I see "Pending" on the status.

I thought it seemed too good to be true, but even $800 is still cheaper than most supers. Especially a red 982. If it’s really been sitting for 20 years like it says, it may have somewhat low hours on it. Someone’s getting a good deal.

Turns out I know the seller. Seller claims he had over 100 replies to his ad shortly after posting with many urgently offering more money. He sold it to the first guy who showed up with $800 no questions asked and with out hesitation...... Any kicking the tires, he'll sell it to the next guy offering more money.

The seller claims he put this tractor up for sale couple years ago for $500 on FB and NOBODY replied. So he figured he'll try again at $275 and all hell broke loose.

I've hauled ass to many a store's advertised sale that was a fantastic deal only to be told "Sorry, all sold out". (because they only had one on the shelf to begin with).
So, false advertising, no, misleading, yes.
But honesty worked out great for this guy, so I may try a little "advertising malfunction" to garner attention for my next selling endeavor.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
